Analysing campaign photography
The words written in the centre of the picture are; "He has his mother's lips" giving us the answer to his bruised left side of his mouth, almost giving us the signal that it's his mothers fault for his daily pain. When I discovered this photography I was instantly drawn to it because of the the light contrast between black and white and also the shadowing that adds the gloom to the photograph. The exposure on the photograph supports the emotion and message it's trying to convey. If you pay close attention to the photography you notice how you cannot see the child's body and only his face, but mainly focusing on one feature; lips. This therefore tells us that domestic abuse can be the cause of just one feature disliked by the abuser. The colours in the photograph work together to attract the viewer in many ways, the colours used are all dark the shadowing showing us how the child feels neglected and abandoned.
This image was produced by National Domestic Violence campaign, this image shows a woman beat up and bruised beside her stands a wine glass which looks like it has blood inside it. Maybe suggesting that her partner is drinking her blood in a metaphorical way. In her other hand she has a phone which she's staring at, possibly being the message of the poster; call for help. The backround in the photograph is blurred out and only the woman is in focus making her the main point, however, in the backround you can see that the house is a mess.
In this picture you can see six eggs, five of which are white and one brown, the three eggs at the back are without faces and almost as if they're not there, to me, acting as bystanders, then we have a brown egg at the front, in the middle, the egg has a straight face; doesn't care. The two white eggs have angry faces directed at the brown egg. This shows the racism between the eggs or the anger they have towards each other. Behind each of the eggs there is always a shadow, giving the photograph more contrast.

Final Shoot - Outcome
This photograph was produced to stop verbal abuse, although verbal abuse doesn't seem big, it happens everywhere, anywhere and at all times, in any form of abuse. I like this photograph because of the variety of colours, the blood is red where as the rest of the photograph is black and white, the colour contrast attracts attention as the colours go against each other. 'Your words make me bleed' indicates how abusive words cause people pain and make them bleed, the text itself looks like dripping blood, giving it more meaning. I added a child line number as it seems appropriate, I feel like verbal abuse is directed at younger pupils more because we don't expect them to answer back, making the abuser stronger.
Perfection
This is one of my best photographs from this shoot, I really like how the writing stands out and it has a positive effect because it's darker, which is exactly what it should be like. I could've used this photograph for my final piece, however, I wanted to have the arm more visible.
Cringe
This is my worst photograph for shoot one because the white balance was too high, which made the photograph look much brighter, where as I wanted the photograph to have a gloomy, dark effect. Therefore, I had to change the white balance to 'Tungsten' which added darkness.

Perfection
This photograph was produced to stop all forms of abuse because abuse is something close to my heart, abuse can happen anywhere at any time no matter how vague it is. Abuse varies from verbal to racism to the more serious where violence is involved, each of them having just as big affect as the other. I like this photograph because of how it's layed out, even though it's simple, the layout shows structure which is what abuse is all about, abuse affects the structure of a human form, it gets beaten and pushed around until it can no longer take anymore. The atmosphere shadows upon how and where abuse happens (in the dark). 'No one will pick up your broken pieces' indicates that even though someone's aware of the abuse you're going through, doesn't mean they will stop it, because there are many abusive actions taking place everyday and people do nothing about it, in some ocassions they even join in. The message I'm trying to get across is that you shouldn't be waiting for someone to point out abuse, you should report it yourself as soon as you can.
perfection
I really like this photograph because I feel like it has a real affect and it's very clear and focused, the blood looks really realistic and you can see the glass. The photograph is dark to have the right effect on a persons emotion.
cringe
I don't like this shoot because you can see the sunlight in the corner which automatically removes all the emotions. However, I really like the angle, it makes it seem as if the blood is trailing towards the brick wall.

In this photograph you can see the emotion on her face, therefore, it's very suitable for this genre of work. I think the brick wall behind her has a good affect too, it shows how strong you have to be in situations such as abuse. I believe that this is my strongest shoot yet, combined with the Photoshop editing.
outcome
This photograph was produced to stop domestic abuse because I feel like domestic abuse is the most common form of abuse in our society today, it happens in a lot of relationships no matter the age, it can also be very subtle, for example; simple insults received from one partner. I like this photograph because of how it's black and white, it gives off a dark atmosphere just like how domestic abuse happens in the dark. 'What has she done to deserve this daily pain from you' indicates how the person in the photograph receives pain daily even if she has no bruises or cuts to show that, she gets the abuse. There's a girl in the photograph because majority of the time young girls are not aware of domestic abuse and that's why it's so common, they do nothing to stop it due to the fear, now I'm not saying domestic abuse only occurs towards the female population, because it doesn't I just feel like girls are more fragile in those situations.
evaluation
Campaign photography is a very touchy unit, it allows you to express your feelings and opinions about certain aspects of society. Therefore, I really enjoyed analysing each edited shoot, I could connect my opinions and link it to different problems in relationships and families.
